Bionnale 2019 focused on two areas, ATMPs and Serious Games. ATMPs (Advanced Therapy Medical Products) are pharmaceuticals that are based on genes, tissues or cells. They offer groundbreaking new opportunities for the treatment of disease and injury including personalised medicine and treatment. A number of well-known doctors from across the region discussed this topic, including  representatives from one of the largest university hospitals in Europe, Charité and industry leaders such as Novartis, Apceth Biopharma GmbH and Apceth Biopharma GmbH. Innovations in the Serious Games field were presented by TU-Darmstadt, Caterna, FAKT Software, Serious Games Solutions GmbH. There was also a Biotech & Pharma session focusing on Chemistry Manufacturing and Control, Intellectual Property, Regulatory affairs and compliance.

The Evening reception was fully booked and included an Industry Keynote and a Speed Lecture Award. The Speed Lecture Award gave scientists a chance to present their research in just 3 minutes in a battle for “The Best Science Pitch”. The finishing touch of the evening was the Keynote lecture "Healthcare Industries in 2030 – Future Perspective" delivered by Peter Albiez, Country Manager for Pfizer Germany and Spokesman of the Cluster HealthCapital Berlin Brandenburg. Chino.io is a proud to be a member of the HealthCapital cluster and we are constantly engaging in industry events like this.
